Alert: reports of incidents in the Oldbury and West Bromwich areas

On Monday 11 February 2019, at approximately 5pm, a parent was collecting her children from the after school club when a man, who was at the end of the driveway, called to her and asked, “Why are you smiling? You are smiling too much”. The man went on to ask how many children she had. The parent walked back to the school and alerted staff. The man disappeared into a nearby car park.


School phoned the parent to check she was safe and as she waited at the bus stop, talking on the phone, the man walked past, turned, and headed back in the direction of the school.


Description: black male, aged between 30 and 35 years old, slim build and approximately 5’9” tall. He had a beard and was wearing a green hat, khaki jogging bottoms, black coat and carrying a black backpack.


The police have been notified.

A group of students reported this morning that on Monday 11 February 2019, at approximately 3.05pm, they were approached by a male in a white car. He wound down his car window to talk to them but drove off when he saw them take out their phones to take a photo of his car registration plate.


Description: the man was described as of “Chinese origin”, approximately 28‑32 years old and wearing a blue coat.
